Drink Plenty Of Water And Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water is as important as exercise or diet for good health and optimum sports performance . Blood is composed of 90 per cent water. Reduction in water levels may result in more concentrated blood, which may be susceptible to clotting. It may become less capable of delivering oxygen to the brain and muscles.

The digestive system also needs water for optimum function and joints need water for lubrication. Insufficient water intake may stress the kidneys and the liver may be forced to detoxify the toxins. When the liver is burdened, food metabolism takes a back seat. Less water also means low levels of muscle glycogen and weaker muscles.

Do not look up to thirst as an indicator. Drink water based on your activity levels. The usual eight-glasses-a-day may be insufficient for hard-training athletes and sports persons, say researchers.

Fast Eaters Get Fat

Eating slowly could help you win the battle of the bulge. Those who eat their meals quickly is about twice as likely to be obese as their slow-munching counterparts.

People who eat quickly and who eat until their stomach get full are three times more likely to be obese. The research supports previous evidence that people tend to consume more calories when they eat quickly, but also that eating quickly is linked to obesity regardless of how many calories are eaten.

People can learn to eat more slowly and recognize their internal cues for fullness. It is not known what drives us to eat quickly, behaviour such as eating while distracted and eating fast food on the go may be to blame.

Setting aside meal times and chatting between bites can help slow the rate of eating and allow your body to send fullness signals before you've overeaten.

Smoking - Puff Away Your Looks

Unless you've been living under a rock, you've probably heard that smoking isn't great for your health, not to mention your wallet.

But if you yet another reason to quit, look in the mirror; tobacco ruins your looks. The chemicals in cigarette smoke, including nicotine, carbon monoxide, tar and lead reduce blood flow to the skin, reduce circulating oxygen, and break down the skin's collagen and elastin. All that leads to extensive wrinkling around the nose and mouth - and it's permanent.

Smoking also reduces the water content of the skin's outer layer, making it appear drier and more fragile.

If that isn't bad enough, smoking is also associated with increased risk of psoriasis, cancers and hair loss. For a longer, more beautiful life, but out.

Thank God For Everything

Are you really happy with what you are? One way to find out is to check yourself out when someone pays you a compliment. Suppose you give a speech at a meeting. Afterwords, while standing around, people come up to you and tell you how much they like it. What do you do? Do you laugh it off as a joke? Do you explain it away, say that it was luck? Or do you thank them and tell them you were happy with it too.

If you follow that course, it tells you that you really took in. What people told you? Why not, for heaven's sake? After all, it was a good speech. Speaking well is one of the talents you have. And all your talents come from God, so why make a big deal of it?Take in the compliments and be happy about them.

God gave you that gift to be used! And just now, you did just that. So use it, acknowledge it, and be happy with it. And be the same way about all your gifts, since all are from God. One thing more, when people tell you something nice about yourself, Remember to put that in a prayer, and thank God for it.

People Are Like Potatoes

Yes. People are like potatoes. After potatoes have been harvested they have to be spread out and sorted in order to get the maximum market price. They are divided according to their size - big, medium and small. It is only after potatoes have been sorted and bagged that they are loaded onto trucks.

But there was one farmer who never bothered to sort the potatoes at all. A neighbor finally asked him, "what is your secret?" The farmer replied, "It is simple. I just load up the wagon with potatoes and take the roughest road to town. During the six mile trip, the little potatoes always fall to the bottom. The medium potatoes land in the middle, while the big potatoes rise to the top."

That is not only true of potatoes. It is a law of nature. Big potatoes rise to the top on rough roads, and tough people rise to the top in rough times. Tough time never lasts but tough people do.

Our Life

Our life is what our thoughts makes it.
Life is half lost before we know what it is.
Life is a comedy to those who think and a tragedy to those who feel.
Life is abundance comes only through great love.
The dedicated life is the life worth living.
The art of life is to know how to enjoy a little and to endure much.

Life is no straight and easy corridor along
which we travel free and unhampered,
but a maze of passages,
through which we must seek our way,
lost and confused, now and again
checked in a blind alley.

But always, if we have faith,
a door will open for us,
not perhaps one that we ourselves
would ever have thought of,
but one that will ultimately
prove good for us.

Succes Came When I Asked God

When I asked God for strength
He gave me difficult situations to face.

When I asked God for brain and brawn
He gave me puzzles in life to solve.

When I asked God for happiness
He showed me some unhappy people.

When I asked God for wealth
He showed me how to work hard.

When I asked God for favors
He showed me opportunities to work hard.

When I asked God for peace
He showed me how to help others.

God gave me nothing I wanted
He gave me everything I needed.

Be Understanding and Caring

In relationships we all make mistakes and sometimes we are insensitive to the needs of others, especially those very close to us. All this leads to disappointment and resentment. The answer to handling disappointment is understanding.

Relationship don't come about because people are perfect. They come about because of understanding.

There is more gratification in being a caring person than in just being a nice person. A caring attitude builds goodwill, which is the best kind of insurance that a person can have and it doesn't cost a thing.

Some people substitute money for caring and understanding. Being understanding is far more important than money and the best way to be understood is to be understanding. The basis of real communication is to understand.

Generosity is a sign of emotional maturity. Being generous is being thoughtful and considerate without being asked. Generous people experience the richness of life that a selfish person cannot even dream of. Be considerate; selfishness brings its own punishment. Be sensitive to other people's feelings.

Be tactful. Tact is very important in any relationship. Tact is the ability to make a point without alienating the other person.

Money will buy a great dog but only kindness will make him wag his tail. It is never too soon for kindness because we don't know how soon is too late. An act of kindness makes a person feel good regardless of whether he is doing it or it is done to him. Kind words never hurt the tongue.

Listening

Now suppose you have been with someone you are proud to call a friend.
You have spent some time together, and you had a lot of things to talk about.
Suppose some of it was very painful for you.
But you made yourself talk it out.
The friend didn't have much to say, either during your talk or at the end. Perfectly all right; you didn't need that.
Just talking it out with him made you feel a whole lot better.
Good for you! Now that you feel better.
Here is something for you to think over. Why could you talk like that?
Because he was your friend? True. But it was more than that.
You could talk because he really listened!
So there is more to conversation than just talking, isn't there?
If you are really going to talk, then somebody has to be there to listen.
And real listening is neither easy nor common.

THOUGHTS

1.A man is but the product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.
( Mahatma Gandhi)

2.We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.
(Gautam Budha)

3.Our minds become magnetized with the dominating thoughts we hold in our minds and these magnets attract to us the forces, the people, the circumstances of life which harmonize with the nature of our dominating thoughts.
(Napolean Hill)

4.All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking.
(Friedrich Nietzshe)

5.The more man meditates upon good thoughts, the better will be his world and the world at large.
(Confucius)

6.
I want to know how God created this world. I am not interested in this or that phenomenon, in the spectrum of this or that element. I want to know His thoughts; the rest are details.
(albert Einstein)

7.There are some that only employ words for the purpose of disguising their thoughts.
(Voltaire)

8.As a single footstep will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.
(Henry David Thoreau)

9.Most People are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.
(Oscar Wilde)

FRIEND

A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you. Those who find a faithful friend find a treasure. A friend in need is a friend indeed. A friend is the one who stands by your side in festivity, in-distress, fighting with enemy, in a court of law and at the cemetery.

A friend is a gift you give yourself. Everyone is a friend, until they prove otherwise. The best way to keep your friends is not to give them away. Choose your friends like your books, few but choice. Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.

A good friend always makes you happy and be with you in your difficulties. He or She helps you to solve your problems as you are in trouble. The best friend is the one who supports you all the time and solves your troubles with you and guides you to brightness.

But it is better to be alone than in a bad company of friends. It is better to have an open enemy than a doubtful friend.

Happiness Shared Is Happiness Multipied

Happiness lies in the mind of a man as beauty lies in the eyes of a beholder. In other words we can say that happiness comprises a state of mind. It lies in our attitude towards life. One thousand rupees can give happiness to a poor man while they have no importance for a millionaire. There is a Chinese proverb in this connection: "There is nothing like a little land well titled; a little house well filled; and a little wife well willed." So the source of happiness lies within our own selves. It is a matter of approach, a matter of feeling. Health and happiness go hand in hand. When we do some good work which gives happiness to others, our own happiness also increases by leaps and bounds. The highest form of happiness is derived when we help others and give happiness to them. This is the reason why in every religion great importance is given to serve poor, needy and diseased persons.
